Peter Shrier | Partner
Pete directs Rethinc’s architectural, design and construction efforts and oversees operations for the development company. On the project level, he is immersed in curating materials, evaluating neighborhood context, builder trends and much of the physical product. Alongside partner Chris Steele, Pete shares duties pertaining to acquisitions, dispositions, entitlement, investor relations and capitalization.
Under the brokerage, and with two decades clocked in the real estate industry, Pete leverages his experience advising clients, small to large, in structuring various transactions; commercial leases, acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, joint ventures, restructures and more. Prior to founding Rethinc in 2015, Pete spent thirteen years at SSH Real Estate, an independent Philadelphia-based investment and brokerage firm.
Pete is an active supporter of Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), where he serves on the Advisory Board to the Board of Directors. Please visit PAWS to learn more about pet adoption, fostering and other ways to support unwanted, yet loving animals.
Chris Steele | Partner
As the primary finance partner at Rethinc Development, Chris leads areas such as underwriting, financial modeling, market research, debt markets and loan procurement. Essentially, Chris analyzes everything. In addition to his core focus, he collaborates with Pete on other matters related to acquisitions, capital raises, investor relations, entitlements, design and construction.
Prior to Rethinc Development, Chris served as Finance Director & Asset Management at a multifamily developer in Philadelphia. In this role, he collaborated on the acquisition of approximately $35 million dollars of mixed-use/multifamily projects and independently managed $60 million of construction debt from inception through project completion. With an analytical mind and acumen for forecasting and risk management, Chris played a large role in pre-construction estimates, bidding, subcontractor agreements, cash flow management, and full portfolio refinancing and recapitalization.
Henry | Top Dog
Henry does not work, but he is so incredibly cute that he can basically do and get away with anything he wants—just look at him! Although born in 2011, Henry looks like a permanent puppy. Despite his desire to cuddle and be around people every waking hour, when the scent of food enters the room, his dark passenger often emerges.
Lyja | Pitty
Lyja brings a wealth of experience chasing squirrels around the neighborhood, sleeping and ignoring everyone’s personal space. In a previous role and as a puppy, Lyja spent time in a city shelter dreaming and masterminding a plan of seducing the perfect human victim. It didn’t take long. While her humble beginnings have taught Lyja to greatly appreciate her relationships and at times proceed cautiously, she is now living the Pit Bull dream and has access to more tennis balls than she knows what to do with.
